Jake is the Founder and Owner of Next Level Athletics Group. Jake grew up in Porters Lake, Nova Scotia. Jake holds an Honours degree in History and a Master's Degree in Atlantic Canada Studies. Understanding the difficulties of being noticed, Jake has a passion for assisting young athletes in achieving their athletic ambitions.
As a player, Jake grew up in the Eastern Shore Mariners Minor Hockey system. Afterwards, his playing would take him to various leagues and teams, including Eastern Shore District High School Schooners, Halifax MacDonalds U18 Major, Bay Ducks Jr. B, Miramichi Timberwolves Jr. A, and Bridgewater Lumberjacks Jr. A where he captained his final season. Following his junior career, Jake played U-Sports hockey for the Royal Military College of Canada of the OUA.
Jake has served as the Head Coach of the Voyageurs HC U16 AAA Hockey Team for 4 seasons, was the Player Development Co-ordinator for Eastern Shore Minor Hockey, and was a regional scout and Assistant Coach for the South Shore Lumberjacks Jr. A hockey team.
Currently, Jake is the Head of Hockey Development for the Ottawa Senators Hockey Programs.
Matt has been with Next Level Athletics Group since day one. Matt grew up playing in the TASA Minor Hockey system before transitioning into the hockey operations side of the game. Matt has experience scouting at the Major Junior level and Junior A, as well as front office roles as an Assistant GM at the Junior level.
Matt currently resides in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
Nick joins the Next Level Athletics Group as the Director of Agency/Consisting Operations. Nick brings years of experience within the agent and sports world, having completed co-ops with the Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club in 2019, and the online sports paper, Pro Sports Daily in 2020. Nick began working as an athletic agent & advisor in August of 2020, and quickly became a name that players and families wanted to be associated with.
Hailing from Halifax, Nick has connections throughout the QMJHL, OHL, WHL, NCAA, and both Canadian and American prep leagues.
Nick, who was born with an extremely rare eye condition known as FEVR, has been legally blind since birth. Although viewed as a disadvantage, Nick embraces the challenge and views it as a reason to strive forward, incorporate change, and implement a “whatever it takes” attitude in everything that he does. Nick is also a competitive athlete, playing for the Canadian Men’s Goalball team. At the age of 18, Nick was the youngest athlete in the sport of Goalball to receive funding through the Canadian Athlete Assistance Program.

Byron brings the dedication, commitment, and professionalism one can come to expect in a great player agent or family advisor. Byron has a passion for fitness and recreation; competing in martial arts such as Gumdo and Taekwondo, where he obtained his 2nd degree black belt. Byron is also a dedicated swimmer, where he worked as a lifeguard for many years.
Byron's greatest passion has always been hockey. He has had the opportunity to play at many levels over the years and give back to the sport by volunteering as a referee. At the young age of seventeen, Byron made the decision to serve his country and join the Canadian Forces as a Communications and Information Systems Specialist, where he served with distinction.
After leaving the Canadian Forces, Byron attended Holland College, registering in their Sport and Leisure Program. Byron then attended the University of New Brunswick, studying in their sports and recreation program. During this time, Byron was awarded the opportunity to work with and with top tier hockey teams in the AUS, such as the UPEI Panthers and the UNB Reds, gaining great knowledge and insight regarding the business of hockey.
Byron’s experience through the military, hockey and school has provided him with the tools and knowledge needed to excel in the athlete management industry. Byron has built a respectful reputation in the sports business community, and wants to provide top tier representation to clients varying in talents and resources.

Jesse was born in Halifax but grew up in Wycocomagh, Nova Scotia. He played minor hockey in the Cape Breton West Minor Hockey Association and finished his playing days with the Dalbrae Dragons High School Hockey.
Currently, Jesse is the Head Coach of the Cabot Highlanders U16 AAA Hockey Team. Prior to this, Jesse coached the Dalbrae Dragons from 2015-2018, placing second in the D2 Provincial Championship in 2018 and as the assistant coach of Cape Breton West U18 AA provincial Champions.
Jesse resides in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia.
